Dan Lightfoot, Landlord

Dan did his cookery training at the same time as pub chef, Brian, and says he taught him everything he knows. After being trained up at Suffolk College, he started as a chef at The Greyhound in 1994 before moving to the Walberswick Bell. He returned to The Greyhound to work in the kitchen once more before taking over as the landlord in 2011.

A keen Ipswich Town supporter, Dan has seen The Greyhound become a sponsor of the ITFC academy.

Brian Powlett, Chef

Brian did his cookery training at the same time as pub landlord, Dan, and says he taught him everything he knows. After Suffolk College, Brian worked at the Bistro on the Quay in Ipswich for nine years before teaching pro cookery at Suffolk New College. He started at The Greyhound in 2013.

He runs his own website, The Knife of Brian, and is a prolific chef blogger!

Reginald ‘Ken’ Lightfoot, Executive Senior Manager of Sanitation and Waste Disposal Services

Mr Lightfoot does all the serious hard work at The Greyhound. He used to work on the sleeper trains running between London and Scotland and is constantly amazed that he’s never been awarded an MBE. He never mentions it, though.
